Luxury spa hotel Calcot Manor, located in England's Cotswolds, is launching a purpose-built fitness and wellness sanctuary.
Opening in February,
The Grain Store will have indoor and outdoor gyms, a spin shed, holistic studio, exercise studio and café with a terrace giving sweeping views over the countryside.
The gym will have a functional space, cardio zone, free weights, resistance and a place to fight postural issues: the Proverb assisted stretch pod where a therapist uses stretch movements and the individual's body weight to increase maneuverability, recovery, strength, injury prevention and to flush out toxins.
An extensive timetable of classes will be on offer, including yoga and Pilates, spin and HIIT, as well as personal training. The Grain Store will be available to members and hotel guests.
Price of membership is £200 a month with a joining fee of £300. The spa is not included as part of the membership.
Free range fitness will also be on offer in the hotel's grounds where outdoor fitness equipment, a nature trail, tennis and disc golf are being installed. Bike hire will also be available.
Membership perks include working areas and a private meeting room, called The Huddle, as well as access to Tanita health and wellbeing analysis and a complimentary towel on every visit.
Wellbeing events will be part of the offering, with educational talks organised on a regular basis.
Poppy Delbridge – author and founder of
Rapid Tapping – will be the first speaker on the programme, talking about the benefits of EFT tapping.
This wellness technique fuses modern neuroscience with ancient touch therapy. Tapping on meridian points helps ease stress and regulate the nervous system.
Calcot Manor is the flagship hotel of The Calcot Collection. The company also owns
The Painswick in Stroud and the
Lord Crewe Arms in Northumberland, all are conceived as stylish but unstuffy hotels.
The move is another sign leading players in the hotel market are moving further into fitness and follows the launch of
Bamford's luxury private members fitness and health club – also in the Cotswolds – in March 2023
Called The Club, the facility on the same site as the company's existing Wellness Spa at Bamford’s Daylesford Organic Farm
